Après une année d’architecture marquée par la pratique du dessin de nu, puis des études scientifiques, un séjour d’étude d’un an et demi au Japon bouleverse son regard. La découverte du modelage de l’argile y provoque un choc esthétique et une passion immédiate. Pendant plus de trente ans, la sculpture accompagne son parcours. Aujourd’hui, peinture à l’huile et dessin au fusain prolongent cette exploration sensible du corps, du mouvement et de la présence. Dans ses œuvres, elle laisse une place essentielle au mystère, à cet espace où le visible s’ouvre sur l’inattendu et les mémoires enfouies.

Biography Leroy Weil Born in Strasbourg in 1963, she grew up with a music-loving father and a mother who was a multi-talented artist. From a very early age, artistic expression became a natural form of expression for her. After a year studying architecture, which involved drawing nudes, followed by a course in science, a year-and-a-half-long study trip to Japan completely transformed her perspective. Her discovery of clay modelling there provoked an aesthetic shock and an immediate passion. For over thirty years, sculpture has been a constant companion on her artistic journey. Today, oil painting and charcoal drawing continue this sensitive exploration of the body, movement and presence.
